Redwood Empire Mortgage Lenders Association (REMLA) is a non-profit association of mortgage lenders and affiliates. Our purpose is to encourage education of our membership, aid colleges and universities in establishing courses in mortgage lending as well as encourages students to adopt careers in real property lending.

We encourage our members to make sound ethical business practices and methods in the marketing and servicing of mortgage loans. Through our various committees we inform members of changes in laws and/or of pending legislation affecting the lending business. We sponsor meetings for educational purposes and for the discussion of issues of interest to those engaged in the mortgage business. We endeavor to inform the public of the existence of REMLA approved lenders, their beneficial effect on the economy and the services they render for individuals and business concerns.

We have been able to raise scholarship money through our annual golf tournament. As a result of these efforts; in 2004 REMLA was able to donate $7,000 to HomeAid Northern California, which is currently working on a 10-unit apartment complex to serve as housing for temporary homeless families, women in crisis and victims of domestic violence.
